PHP Team Leader

Experienced

We are looking for a Team Leader, with experience in PHP and Drupal 7/8 CMS, to manage our team and provide effective guidance. You will be responsible for supervising, managing and motivating team members on a daily basis. You will also have the opportunity to build highly secure and scalable platforms in leading cloud environments that connect and support thousands of users, so the commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and quality product is essential.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Create an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture;
  • Set clear team goals;
  • Monitor team performance and report on metrics;
  • Work on projects for our European clients (Romania, Belgium, Luxembourg);
  • Lead the technical implementation for the projects; 
  • Motivate team members;
  • Discover training needs and provide coaching;
  • Listen to team members’ feedback and resolve any issues or conflicts;
  • Recognize high performance and reward accomplishments;
  • Encourage creativity and risk-taking;
  • Help with tasks’ prioritization, estimation and planning;
  • Plan features development with product manager(s);
  • Assume a high level of ownership of all work developed by members of the team;
  • Supervise and coach the team on software best practices (design, coding, troubleshooting, work breakdown, work estimation, refactor strategies, automated testing, etc.);
  • Work closely with the teams to optimize system architecture and project efficiency;
  • Ensure the development processes and procedures are properly followed (e.g. git flow management, code reviews, etc.);
  • Participate in hiring and training processes;
  • Participate in R&D processes;
  • Design solutions for challenging tasks, sometimes outside Drupal’s area, by implementing various API clients/services;
  • Work mostly with Drupal 8 (be that classic or decoupled strategies);
  • Suggest and organize team-building activities.

 

Requirements:

  • Experience leading a team;
  • Knowledge of performance metrics;
  • Proficient with Object-Oriented programming;
  • Knowledge of Design Patterns;
  • Understanding the fully synchronous behavior of PHP;
  • Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable application;
  • Experience with agile development methodologies;
  • Strong knowledge of system architecture, best practices, and design patterns;
  • Expert knowledge of and ability to communicate software architecture and design principles;
  • Experience with performance profiling and optimization;
  • Strong initiative to find ways to improve solutions, systems, and processes;
  • Strong knowledge of the common PHP or web server exploits and their solutions;
  • Experience with debugging tools and techniques;
  • Experience in working with SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Mongo), Redis, JavaScript/HTML/CSS;
  • Experience in building a RESTful API, High-Available and Scalable Applications
  • Experience in working in Unix/Linux environments;
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git, bitbucket, etc.;
  • Strong organizational, time-management and decision-making skills;
  • Ability to create, professionally document and execute estimates;
  • Strong communication skills both oral and written;
  • Excellent leadership skills;
  • Strong analytical skills including the ability to define problems, collect data, identify facts, and draw valid conclusions.

 

Desirable Qualifications and Skills:

  • Degree in Management or training in team leading is a plus;
  • Experience with advanced PHP development frameworks and workflows (Symphony, Composer)
  • Familiarity with Configuration Management toolsets, Acquia tools and solutions (Lightning, BLT, Dev Desktop, Acquia Cloud).
  • Experience with backend technologies like NodeJS, Python, or Ruby and scalable server technologies
  • Experience with SSRS, TFS, REST, Cloud Solutions, Bootstrap and KnockoutJS
